August 2015

We made it through the last month of summer vacation! We seemed to have an extra long summer this year because of moving and changing schools which was great for the kids, but I am glad that we are getting back into school and a routine! Anyway, August was spent mostly at home just being bored! That's what summer is all about, right? We did have a great visit from Brian and Suzanne and then Matt's family came into town the same weekend! We really enjoyed seeing our family!

We celebrated Lydia's first birthday this month, too! This year has gone by so fast (as they all usually do, it seems). We are so grateful for this crazy baby in our family! She is walking around, climbing on everything, and really just thinks she's one of the big kids. She keeps us laughing all the time and is just adorable. Happy first birthday, Lydia! We love you!

A major highlight for Matt and Caleb was going to the Michigan 400 NASCAR race. Our friend won 4 tickets through work and invited Matt and Caleb to go with him and his son. They had so much fun! It was a great experience that I don't think they will ever forget!

While the boys were away we had a girls' night and painted our nails, made chocolate chip cookies, and watched Anne of Green Gables. I loved spending time with my girls!
