November 2013

November was a fun month for us! The weather was beautiful so we spent as much time as we could outside. The kids were able to use their swing set (probably for the last time this year) and I was able to still run outside a little bit.

Matt and I were able to attend a BYU football game (don't worry, we are still Oregon Duck fans), but we wanted to support Matt's cousin who plays on the team, so we went to the last homegame of the season. And of course it was freezing cold, snowing, and we got drenched! Next time we will go more prepared (like wearing our winter snow gear)! It was still fun to go and watch them play. We did end up leaving at half-time because they were so far ahead and we were totally numb!

This year Thanksgiving came a week later than what we're used to, so we decided to put up the Christmas decorations earlier than normal. The kids (and Matt) were so excited to get everything put up and they did a good job decorating the tree!

My dad turned one year older this year so we had to have a birthday party for him! He turned 58 so there were 58 candles on his cake. And he was able to blow them all out in one breath! Not bad for an old man! Happy Birthday, Dad!

And then came Thanksgiving! Finally! I hosted this year, which basically means that I had everyone over to our house, but my mom did most of the cooking. She does a good job! The food was delicious and we were only about a half hour late eating...not too bad, right? This year we went around the table and said one thing we were grateful for, but with a twist! The person before you picked a letter and you had to think of one thing you were grateful for that started with that letter. There were some pretty funny answers!

Overall, we had a good month and are now ready for the holiday season to begin!
