The Major Effect...

Remember that major effect I was talking about in the last post? Well, here it is! Matt got a new job at Henry Day Ford in West Valley, Utah. That is right. We really are moving this time! This may come as quite the surprise to most of you, but it really has been a long time coming. Let me explain.

About 9 months ago Matt got a job offer at Larry H. Miller in Sandy, UT. We thought we were going to move, but then Price Auto Group offered us a nice raise and that things would get better. Well, the raise was nice, but things with the manager didn't really get any better. It was getting to the point that Matt wasn't really enjoying his job as much and was getting a lot of anxiety at work because of how the manager would react to things. Matt also wanted a future and room for promotions, and that wasn't available in Price.

So he made a phone call to Henry Day Ford. The Service Manager invited Matt to come down and walk through the shop and give him his resume. There wasn't any expectation of a job offer because the Service Manager had made it clear that they weren't hiring right now, but maybe in about a month. Well, Matt went and walked through the shop and loved it! It has shiny, clean floors, the air hoses come down from the ceiling, everything is done electronically, and the rules (such as no smoking in the shop, no alcohol on the premises) are strictly enforced. And then he was offered a job. That surprised us all. The manager asked Matt if he could start the beginning of June (one week away). Matt came home and talked to me about it. We thought it through, prayed about it, and decided it was the right time and the right job.

So, now we are packing boxes and trying to sell our house, find a place to live, and a million other things that are necessary to move. It won't be an easy move because I have such great friends and neighbors here that I will miss, but I know that it is the right thing to do and that brings me great comfort.

Here's to lots of these:

To get to here:

So we can be:

Just kidding! But we are looking forward to our new adventures over the mountain! Wish us luck!
