Emily Kay Hill

She is here!! After 9 years (okay months) of waiting, baby Emily has arrived! We are so excited! She fits into our family just perfectly. Here is the story of her arrival:

In the couple of weeks prior to her birth, I had been having some contractions, but nothing really serious. I was definitely uncomfortable and so ready to not be pregnant anymore. It's at the end when I know that she could be born at anytime that the wait becomes almost unbearable! Anyway, I had a doctor's appointment where he stripped my membranes and we set a time for me to be induced. I was hoping that I would just go into labor on my own, but that was not the case.

Anyway, on Friday (June 18th) at noon was my time to be induced. Matt got up and went to work in the morning and my mom had come up the night before to watch the kids for us, so I had some company to help the morning pass by quicker. Matt got home and showered and we were off to the hospital!

I got hooked up to the IV and a couple hours later the doctor came in to break my water. Shortly after that the most loved man in the maternity ward came in (the anesthegiologist) and gave me my epidural. After that we just watched tv and waited. At about 7:00pm the nurse checked me and I was only at a 6. That was frustrating! So I decided to take a nap. When I woke up at 9:00pm I felt pain and lots of pressure! It was almost time! At 9:30pm I was ready to push, but had to wait for the doctor. When he arrived it was only about 5 minutes later and she was here!

Emily Kay Hill was born at 9:50pm on June 18th, 2010. She weighed 7 pounds 10 1/2 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. She has lots of dark hair and is absolutely beautiful! She already has everyone wrapped around her finger (especially Daddy)!

We stayed in the hospital for a couple of days and had some great visitors! Thanks Cliff, Camille, Grandma April, Grandma Leslie, and Melody! It is so nice to be home and getting settled into a routine.

Alora absolutely loves her! She can't seem to hold her enough. Caleb doesn't really care one way or the other. We are so happy to have her here with us and feel so blessed to have another healthy baby.
