Our First Week...

Our first week home wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be. That's probably because Leslie was here helping me, otherwise it would've been a lot worse!

We came home on Sunday and were told that Emily had jaundice, so I needed to take her back to the hospital to have her tested on Tuesday. Her bilirubin levels had increased, so they told me to come back on Wednesday. We went back and she had gone up a point, so they told us to come back on Thursday. Same thing. We went back on Friday and her levels had finally gone down. Thank goodness! Alora and Caleb never had jaundice, so this was a whole new experience for me. It was so stressful! I didn't want her to have to be readmitted and was just anxious the whole week about it! She was also struggling with nursing, so that was another stress!

I am so grateful that Leslie was here helping us. She took care of Alora and Caleb, prepared the meals, did some laundry, cleaned the house, and a lot more! Thanks so much Leslie, you are a lifesaver!

We are doing much better this week. Emily is doing great with the nursing and is a great baby! She really doesn't cry much and is content to just lay down and look around at things (when she is awake). We are all adjusting well to having her in our family. It's almost like she has always been here! I am so grateful for my little family. It's a lot of work, but so much fun and totally worth it!!

Glad things are going well. And I'm so glad you had help. It's so hard to accept it sometimes but boy is it worth it. I'm happy you're little girl is doing better though. Dr appts for babies are so stressful. Thinking about you!
