A Van Down By the River....

Well, not quite, but close! Last weekend we packed up the trailer, loaded down the truck, and down to Utah we went! The weather was perfect, and we made it down without any problems! Matt has been staying in the camp trailer and working at his new job (which he loves) and I've been up in Idaho trying to stay sane with the kids. It hasn't been the easiest thing we've done, but it's been manageable. Matt stays busy with work most of the time and when he's "home" he's playing video games and listening to music. I've been staying busy with the kids and trying to get more stuff done around here such as packing and cleaning. We've played a lot and watched a lot of movies, but it's been fun. The kids have really missed their dad and so have I! It's really hard being a "single mom" and I have a much greater respect for those parents who have to do it all on their own. It's exhausting! Anyway, we hope to not have to be apart for long and look forward to every weekend we get to see each other. It's definitely true what they say: absence makes the heart grow fonder! Well, here are some pictures of our journey down to Utah. Matt had his big tool box in the back of his truck and pulled the camp trailer down with Alora riding the whole way with him (she is such a daddy's girl). I followed behind him with Caleb and Lucky. It was a fun adventure!

When we got there, we had to set up the trailer. We had never used it before, so this was all new to us! We got hooked up to the water and electricity without any problems. We cleaned out water lines (they had been winterized with antifreeze) and put chemical where it needed to go. The problem and frustration came in the morning when we couldn't figure out how to get the water heater to work. We read the owner's manual and called the technician at the RV place and finally pulled out a drawer, turned some knobs, and voila! It worked! We were so proud of ourselves! It was nice to take a warm shower (although it didn't last long)! It has been pretty cramped in there with all of us, but not too bad. We've got a system worked out and it's gone pretty smooth. Where we're at is on a farm, so Alora has all the space she could ever want to run around and that's exactly what her and Lucky do together. Thankfully we also have a DVD player or else we'd really go crazy at night! Well, here's to fun memories and a crazy adventure!

I want to know how you took that picture of Matt in the truck while you were in your car, taken from your back window......and a view of the front of the truck. Were both hands on the wheel at 10 and 2????????

I bet Alora loves all the space. How fun. You know, add this on to the list of life's adventures. I love it!!!!
