March 2013

March was a very busy month for us (at least towards the end). We started off slow and ended up so busy and ready for life to calm down again! The weather started to warm up a little bit, so that was wonderful and we definitely enjoyed it. The house projects had started at that point also, so we were busy with all of that (will explain everything soon). Anyway, we are enjoying whatever comes whenever it comes!

Projects- While we were on one of our many trips to Lowes the kids saw these kits that you build. We couldn't resist! They had so much fun "building" with Dad. It was great!

Caleb's Birthday- Caleb turned 5 years old this year! He is learning so much and has made so much progress with his speech and behavior. We are so proud of him! He is the best student in his class and has learned his numbers and some of his letters. He is doing better at writing his name and knows his shapes and colors. We are continuing to work with him and wish him lots of success this upcoming year. He loves cars and trucks and anything that moves. He really enjoys playing with his sisters and riding his bike. His favorite food is still pizza, but occassionally he will mix it up with a corn dog or chicken nuggets. We are so grateful to have him in our family! Happy birthday, Caleb! We love you!

Brian's Wedding- Yep...it's true! The baby of the family and the "Golden Child" finally found somebody who would agree to eternity with him! It's amazing! Her name is Suzanne and she is from Idaho Falls, ID (we have good luck with those Idaho folks)! She is wonderful and a perfect match for him! They compliment each other so well! We were so excited to be a part of their special day, which also happened to be on Caleb's birthday. We spent most of the day at the wedding (in Bountiful, UT) and then celebrated Caleb's birthday later that evening. Anyway, they both were glowing and so excited! Our dad had a hard time watching his only son grow up, but we know he's excited for him. A huge milestone occurred at this wedding. It was the first time in about 20 years that our whole family was together. Yep...big deal. It was definitely a turning point for all of us, I think. We are ready to start mending fences and rebuilding those relationships. Family is truly the most important thing and I'm excited to have mine at least be able to get together on occassion without the awkwardness! Anway, it was wonderful day full of celebrations and we loved it!

Easter- This was the first Easter in our new house! We brought the kids down and they found their baskets (well...buckets this year) full of candy and fun toys. They were very excited! Then we took them outside for an egg hunt. Caleb wasn't that into it, but the girls had a good time with it! We also celebrated Easter at my grandparent's house in Pleasant Grove, UT. That was fun to have all the grandkids and great-grandkids together. That definitely doesn't happen very often! They got even more candy and had fun just playing! We are grateful for this time of year when the snow begins to melt and things start to come alive again. It's not coincidence that this time of year is when we celebrate Easter and our Savior being resurrected. I know that we are so blessed to have the Gospel in our lives and to know our Savior. We are grateful for his life, sacrifice, and his resurrection. What hope that brings to us!

Well...that was our month of March! It doesn't seem like a lot on paper, but we were busy!
