Prayers...

For a long time now when it's time to say prayers (at meals, bedtime...) Alora always says "it's my turn." Well, we tell her ok and then she just sits there and says nothing. So, we try to help her and tell her what to say and she still just sits there and smiles and laughs. Well, the other night it was bedtime and I asked her if she wanted to say the prayer tonight. She of course agreed, so she starts... "Heavenly Father," and then I tell her what to say and she actually repeated it! It was great! So for the past couple of nights she has wanted to say the prayers and she does a great job! I am so proud of her! It really makes me feel like she is understanding the things that we're trying to teach her. I am so grateful also for the nursery leaders who put time into preparing lessons each week. Just a couple weeks ago she had a lesson on prayers and how to pray and I'm sure that helped her. I love this gospel and just hope that we can teach our children to love it also.

Also, about a month ago we went to the Distribution Center and bought the Gospel Art Kit. It's great! Alora and Caleb both love flipping through the different pictures. Alora can even recognize a few of the people in the stories we've told her. It has been a great way to get our kids interested in the scriptures and all the stories that are in them. Alora especially gets excited and goes to get the binder when it's time to read scriptures. I just hope that enthusiasm is always there!

We love that book too! We use if for FHE and just pick a picture and talk about it! Isn't it so handy? And how sweet that she is saying her prayers! It is so cute when they learn! You are a good momma!

Awwwww, the prayers melt my heart. Listening to Elli saying them is about my favorite thing of the day. And sometimes she cuts us off while we're saying them and says, "No, it's my turn." How can we say no???

And yes, love that kit. We do the same thing for FHEmost Mondays.

That is so sweet, I agree its exciting when you feel like your children are learning something from you. Hailey just learned to fold her arms for a pray, hopefully I can get her to the same point as Alora someday. But can I just say your kids have the cutes eyes I just love seeing them in picture, they get more adorable everyday!
