July 2017

Happy 4th of July!

My patriotic boys!

Girl time!

So grateful for our many freedoms! Happy Independence Day!

We love these happy, crazy kiddos!

Time for breakfast!

She loves her Daddy!

My sweet boy!

That face!

Beautiful rainbow!

Time for a road trip! New York here we come!

Our first stop was to Krispy Kreme Donuts.

Of course we had to make a pit stop at Daytona International Speedway.

Not off to a very good start! Alora got carsick about 3 hours into our trip. We almost turned around and went home. Poor thing. Thankfully she did feel better by that night.

We spent a total of 50 hours (or more) in the car on this trip. We saw some beautiful scenery and drove through several states. Here is Georgia!

Welcome to South Carolina!

Hello North Carolina!

Here is Virginia!

We stopped for a couple hours in Washington D.C. and did some sight seeing. It was super hot and really crowded. We need to go back again and see more!

Washington Monument

The White House. This is the one place the kids wanted to see.

Family photo in front of the White House. The people who took our picture were from Florida too...only about an hour from us! How random!

The Lincoln Memorial

Jefferson Memorial

Hello Pennsylvania!

This stop was definitely the kids (and Matt's) favorite part of the whole trip! We stopped in Hershey, PA and visited the Hershey Factory. It was so much fun! We took a tour of how the chocolate is made and bought a few fun souvenirs.

We loved it here!

We made it to New York!

Our first stop in Palmyra is the Sacred Grove. It was a beautiful, peaceful place.

The Joseph Smith Farm

Joseph Smith home

We finally connected with our family! Lucy and Ezra are here!

Stake Center next to Peter Whitmer House

Palmyra Temple

Papa and Grandma Leslie. We really enjoyed our short visit with them. Hopefully next time we get more time together!

Our kids love their grandparents!

She loved being outside catching butterflies.

And the whole reason for this crazy trip was for these two! Congratulations on being sealed for time and all eternity!

There was an ice cream shop in Palmyra that served huge ice cream cones so of course we had to make a stop there. It was so yummy!

Ready for the Hill Cumorah Pageant.

We were driving down the highway and saw the Washington D.C. temple. It was beautiful!

We promised Caleb that after summer school and our trip that he could get a guinea pig. He worked so hard with so much testing but will still have to repeat the third grade so we are hoping that his new buddy, Digger, cheers him up!

A quick trip to the Orlando Temple. It was a super hot day!
