January 2015

We are beginning a new year! Hurray! Time seems to be going by so fast these days it's hard to keep up with everything, but we're trying! Here is what we have been up to this month:

Matt turned 31! His birthday was on a Sunday so we stayed home and had a nice relaxing day. He got to have a brownie with a few candles and that was about it! We love you, Daddy!

On Christmas we got a nice snow storm so Matt went in the backyard and built a sledding track for the kids to go down. They loved it!! Every day they would come home and get their snowsuits on and play outside until dark. It was so much fun! When it finally melted the kids were so sad!

We have been trying to get out of the house more often and find fun things to do here in our own area and one of those things was to go the Museum of Natural History. We had fun! It had a lot of exhibits about Utah and the history of our state. It also had some dinosaur bones that were found here and lots of cool stuff! Caleb wasn't totally into it and at one point he had had enough and walked off and we lost him for a few minutes. Super scary! Matt finally found him on a completely different level than where we were at. That kid! Anyway, at that point we had pretty much seen everything and so we left.

Alora started piano lessons! She is a natural at it! She is loving it and has learned so many songs super fast. We are excited to see this talent grow and are super proud of her!

Caleb is doing great at school and has really become an awesome student. He loves reading and is getting really good at math. We are so grateful for the progress he has made and all the work and effort from his teachers that have helped him get this far. He still loves Legos and still makes us laugh with his funny antics.

Emily is doing great at preschool. She knows almost all of her letters and is learning to write her name.

Lydia is really starting to babble and make some great sounds! I think she has definitely found her voice! We also started her on baby food! She wasn't quite sure about it at first, but has definitely come to enjoy it! She is rolling over from her back to tummy but doesn't like staying there so she whines and can't seem to roll back over. Hopefully she will get that figured out soon! She is still our super happy baby and we love seeing her learn and grow!

Some other things we did this month were going to the Auto Show and then finally taking the kids bowling. They loved being able to climb around in all the different cars and trucks. And I think they really had fun bowling for real...not just on the Wii. It's been a great month full of fun times!
