Hill Family: June 2013

Wow! I hope June isn't any indication of what my summer is going to be like because that means we are going to be pretty busy! Here is a recap of June:

Camille & Dallin Wedding- Matt's little sister, Camille got married! She married her high school sweetheart in a nice ceremony in Idaho. The wedding and reception were both beautiful and it was fun to get so much of the family together to celebrate. We weren't able to stay very long, but it was great to be there to support Camille and Dallin as they begin their life together.

Last day of school- Alora and Caleb both had their last day of school! Alora had a little hawaiian program which was so cute! Now she is a big first grader! At first she was nervous to go to first grade, but she got to meet her teacher on the last day of school, so now she's more excited to go, which I'm grateful for. Caleb graduated from preschool and will be going to kindergarten next year. He will still be in his learning center (small class size) which I think will be wonderful for him. Our hope is that someday he will be integrated into regular education, but for now we will just keep going with his special education program.

Emily Birthday- My baby turned 3 years old this year! I am so excited to see her become more independent, but I do miss my baby! She is very insistent to do things herself and she definitely knows how to pick on her brother and sister. She loves all sorts of food and of course anything with sugar! She absolutely loves Minnie Mouse and the princesses. However, she also loves to play with trucks and cars, too. She is learning her colors, counting, and how to swing herself on the swing. We are so proud of all of her accomplishments and are looking forward to a year full of more learning, hopefully potty training, and great things for her! Love you, Monkey!

New Puppy- We did it again! We got a new puppy! His name is Koda and he is a bichon/poodle mix. He is the cutest little fluffball ever! Lucky will love having a little brother, I'm sure!

Lindsey surgery- Towards the end of the month we got a phone call that my older sister, Lindsey, had been admitted to the hospital for severe vomiting and back pain. After performing several tests, they determined that she was fine, except for she had a brain tumor. Yep. A brain tumor. Not exactly the news that anyone wants to get. So she was admitted on a Monday and on Tuesday they performed a 7 hour brain surgery to remove a tumor a little smaller than a tennis ball. After they performed tests on the tumor they determined that it was benign (non-cancerous). We are all so shocked and surprised how quickly life can change! She had just moved into a cute new house and was working a great new schedule with her jobs and now she is in bed and can't go to work for at least a month. I can't believe all the people around her that have helped her with her animals, bills, fixing up her house, visiting her in the hospital, bringing food and the list goes on. I believe that it's situations like this that really prove who your true friends are and who will really be there for you in the long run. She has some great coworkers and friends around her to help her and support her. She will have to take it really easy for the next month as she recovers and hopefully she won't get too restless. Shayla and my mom are going to stay with her at her house and will be there to help her. We are grateful that she is doing so well and are looking forward to a speedy recovery for her!
