Random Pictures & Post

Life really does go by so fast! I can't believe that it's been so long since I have updated my blog! So, here we go for a quick update that sums up all that we have done these past few months.

The kids are the most interesting so we will start with them...

Alora is LOVING preschool. We are so glad that we made the choice to put her in school. She is learning so much and really enjoys the time she spends there. She is a great big sister. She is so protective of Emily and really loves playing with her siblings. She is growing up so fast and says some of the funniest things! I swear sometimes I think she is 5 going on 25! She is able to do chores around the house and really loves helping me clean the dishes, set the table, and of course bake. She has lots of friends in our neighborhood and would play with them all day if she could! She tried to participate in the Primary Program, but got some stage fright and didn't quite make it. Better luck next year! She is such a joy to have in our family and we are so proud of all the progress she is making!

Caleb has grown up so much! He is talking more and more and is learning so much at his preschool. We have seen so many changes in him in the past year (since he has been in the early intervention program) and are so proud of him! He is learning so much including how to count (he can get up to six by himself), animals, shapes, colors (brown is his favorite), and so many language skills. He has also become much more cooperative and compliant, which has helped limit the drama and frustration in our family. He is also saying prayers with us and can read scriptures (with our help, of course). He will also fold his arms and is becoming more patient with transitions and changes. We are so grateful for Caleb and all that he has taught us. He is growing up so fast and we are so excited to continue and watch him progress and learn!

Emily is such a quick learner. She seems to catch on to things so fast! She is hilarious to watch and really is our entertainment most of the time! She is talking more and more every day. Some the things she says so far are: dada, mama, dog, woof, baby, sippie, juice, bread, hi, bye-bye, shoes, sock. She will be going into nursery the first of the year and we are so excited for her (and for us)! She is definitely ready for it. She loves to play with Alora's kitchen and loves her blankie and monkey. She has definitely got some spunk in her, but we love it. She is happy and easy-going and we are so grateful to have her as part of our family.

Matt and I are pretty much the same. Matt still loves working for Henry Day Ford and is grateful for the professionalism and the awesome shop! I am still playing taxi cab, housekeeper, financial advisor, etc... and loving it. I am so grateful that I can stay home and be with my kids and take care of my family.

We are enjoying Kaysville and are really liking the convenience of everything. We have noticed that the weather up here, though, seems much different than the weather anywhere else along the Wasatch Front. We had a MAJOR windstorm here a couple weeks ago that left us without power for three days! Our neighbors lost shingles from their rooftops, fences, and of course, trees. Our church was actually cancelled on Sunday so we could help everyone clean up before another storm was supposed to hit us. It was crazy! We are grateful that nothing really happened to us and we were able to spend a couple days with my dad, which was nice.

We have been so blessed this year with good health, a stable job, a comfortable home, and so much more! We are excited to see what 2012 brings us! Here are some random pictures of our life lately. Hopefully next year I will be better about updating the blog and taking more pictures!!

Matt and the kids made a snowman!

Our Caleb boy!

Emily fell asleep standing up!

What she usually looks like after a good meal!

I chopped my hair! I am loving it!

It's great to read your post! I think Emily looks just like Matt in one picture, and exactly like you in another! I am so glad that Caleb and Alora are loving their schools. That makes all the difference. Glad you're doing so well!
