Potty Time!

Alora is 2 years old and a little bit and is still showing ZERO interest in the whole "potty" thing. I'm getting tired of changing her diapers, so today I thought I'd give it ANOTHER try. At first, she didn't want to sit on her little potty, but I had her do it anyways (which may or may not be the best method). Then, I went and got her some books to read and we sat in the bathroom for about a 1/2 hour and we just read books and then right as I was about to give up, she went pee in the potty! Hurray! I made a big deal out of it and we called Daddy to tell him the great news and she got candy and lots of high fives and it was great! I don't think she completely gets it or even wants to do it again, but I just wanted her to go in it at least once at this point so she can start getting an idea of what that means for her. The next step is for us to go to the store and by her some training panties. It's just the beginning, but we're excited!! Wish us luck!

Congratulations on the first time going potty and good luck on potty training. I have pretty much given up until I muster some more energy. If you have any tips please share!!! Or better yet, why I don't I just send Alli your way and you can train her. :) I think this is the hardest part of parenting thus far!I just keep telling myself I never met a 1st grader who wasn't potty trained, a kindergartner yes, but not a 1st grader. :)

Once you get her mastered at it, will you come potty train Tate?! I have absolutely NO desire to do it and neither does he!

Good luck with that~ We have been working on it for months now and Tanner gets really excited when he does it successfully, but the majority of the time it doesn't happen and I still have him in diapers because I am tired of cleaning the pee up!

Yeah, that is super exciting! She will become interested eventually! I know it is hard to be patient, but that is the best advice I can give you and well of course good luck!

Oh you guys, I wish you lots of luck! That first peepee in the potty is so exciting...I just hope you don't find yourself half a year later still waiting for your child to really show interest like us. Hailey does the peepee in he potty, but no luck on number 2. I just changed 2 poopy pantys today...It was so gross.
