Officially Binkie-free

It has happened! Alora is officially off of the binkie! (For real this time!). Before bed a couple of nights ago we cut off a little bit more from the tip. She noticed (I can't believe how observant she is sometimes), but wanted to keep it anyway. I didn't mind because she wasn't really sucking on it at this point, she just held onto it most of the night. The next day at naptime she was holding it and put it in her mouth, then looked at it and said "yucky." Then she got up out of bed, said "trash" and went and put it in the garbage! Hurray! I just watched her, shocked. I had to pinch myself to see if that really happened. She then went to sleep without it. She has mentioned it a couple of times, but I think it's more out of habit than actually wanting it. We are so happy that that is over with and have vowed to not let our kids get so attached to their binkies ever again! (If that's possible)!
